Introducing Yvette our Principle Interior Designer
Yvette has a Diploma in Interior Design, with near 18 years extensive and considerable experience, she possesses an innate desire to create and design interiors that exceed client’s expectations. With an eye for quality, a superior sense of style, and a client-centred approach to business, Yvette McKenzie has proven herself as an innovative designer. She offers a balance of creativity, collaboration and forward thinking with a structured, organised, and detailed mentality; enabling her to deliver focussed development, follow through and total completion to each aspect of the design.
Yvette has a strong eye for pairing the traditional and contemporary, a self-confessed hard finishes fanatic and colour enthusiast she enjoys working in close consultation with the client to create an environment that works perfectly in both form and function.
Why Yvette?
To start with, Yvette has tackled her own home project as the lead designer, overseeing the complete construction of a dual living home nestled in the beautiful Gold Coast Hinterland on a small acreage allotment, which she refers to as her 'sanctuary'. She designed the exterior of the home, as well as the pool design and internal space plan layout, coordinated architectural details, designed, and specified custom construction elements, and created and implemented the full interior concept. During this time, Yvette also led and partnered on various residential projects of differing scale and depth of involvement, as well as being an educator at Tafe to the upcoming designer students to achieve their Diploma of Interior Design.
In her spare time, Yvette enjoys spending time with her husband, exploring the city’s cultural, art, and food scene, as well as traveling worldwide for experiences and inspiration.
Yvette has been interviewed and featured in leading design and lifestyle publications such as the Gold Coast Bulletin Lifestyle Real-estate Edition, providing advice on climate differences many Gold Coasters are opting to style their homes with design influences and ultimately providing a holistic approach to the way she designs.
Yvette is a creative and believes in the power of beautiful interiors to transform daily life. Her interests, attributes and career visions as a designer is to “always create spaces that encompass the environment and client’s personal acquisitions, as these elements are the foundations of resourceful, sustainable and playful interior spaces”. Her goal for each client is to create a highly personalised space in which they feel elevated, inspired, and right at home!
